Remembering Daisy

I used to have a cat named Daisy, and this image from Starving Artistamps reminds me so much of her. She's been gone for almost 2 years, but I still expect her to pounce on me from behind the door or swat at my feet from under the couch. Half Maine Coon Cat and a calico to boot, she had quite the personality, that's for sure. Making this card reminded me just how much I miss her.

I used a simple layout and soft colors so that the image would take center stage. Using Tattered Rose Distress Ink, I stamped the Cracked Tile Mosaic background on a piece of white cardstock and on my card base which I made from a piece of pink parchment cardstock. The Cat image is stamped with Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalk ink. I matted the image with brown cardstock and distressed the edges. The only embellishments I used were some dew drops and those only because I had just gotten them.

  1. What a beautiful reminder of Daisy! I know one can really miss a pet that has "crossed the rainbow bridge." I lost my beloved Golden Retriever, Rusty, 5 years and a few days ago, and it still seems like he should be bounding around the house...and being terrified when it storms. I don't think I'll ever hear thunder again without thinking of Rusty, poor guy. we sure do miss him.

    Beautiful card.

  2. Oh Donna...

I just lost my furry feline friend of 12 years, and I look for her every day. :( I know what you mean. THanks for sharing Daisy with us. *hugs*

  3. Pets are part of the family and there is a big void when losing them. This card is beautiful. I love how the background is so soft.
